Dr. David Brauner
Dr. David Brauner grew up near Buffalo, NY and moved to Calgary following Optometry school. He completed his undergraduate degree in chemistry and minor in biology at SUNY Oswego and continued his studies in New York, New York at SUNY College of Optometry, graduating with his Optometry degree in 2013. Attending Optometry school in New York allowed Dr. Brauner to work with a large and very diverse patient population. Clinical training included pediatric, vision therapy, an externship at the Perry Point VA Hospital in Perryville, MD which focused heavily on ocular disease management for veterans, and an externship at Rochester Visionary Eye Associates that focused on specialty contact lenses.
Dr. Brauner has a special interest in specialty contact lenses and loves giving his patients the opportunity to wear contact lenses when they thought they had no options or were not fit for them.
In his free time Dr. Brauner takes every opportunity to get out into the mountains for photography, hiking and skiing. He also enjoys hockey and training for triathlons. He enjoys bringing his passion for sports into optometry by helping educate and providing his patients with lifestyle solutions using top technology in eyeglass lenses, and the healthiest and convenient choices for contact lenses to allow them to perform their best.
Message to patients: So much of our world is experienced through vision it is important to routinely assess our vision and eye health to allow ourselves to function at our best. This is especially important for children as majority of learning is based on vision.
