Dr. Andrea Saetre
Dr. Andrea Saetre graduated from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry in 2003. She spent her first year of practice in Hamburg, Germany at EuroEyes Laser Centre, where she gained valuable experience in refractive eye surgery. She is also fluent in German and can provide eye examinations in both English and German.
Dr. Saetre has a strong commitment to community service. She has volunteered her time in numerous community and international vision care programs. She has educated elementary school children about the importance of eye care, and she also teaches Biology 30 eyeball dissection classes.
She was president of the Calgary Society of Optometrists in 2008 and 2009 and is currently still a member of the CSO executive.Dr. Saetre also contributes
to the vision care of the underprivileged through charity eye care missions. She has been to Merida, Mexico and to various locations in Costa Rica with Canadian Vision Care Teams.
Dr. Saetre has a special interest in pediatrics and special needs as well as eye muscle disorders. She began working part time at Health Plus Family Vision Care in 2005 and became full time in 2006. She also works at our Threes Hills clinic and at South Calgary Eyecare.
Dr. Saetre is an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hiking, camping, mountain biking and skiing. She also enjoys travelling.
Message to Patients: Early diagnosis and proper education is key. Thorough eye examinations can reveal a lot about your overall health. Get your eyes checked regularly and be informed. Don’t hesitate to ask questions!
